Vingt et Un
version 1.011 dated 21-Oct-02
(c) R.I.D.Macfarlane
This program has been supplied as a sample for your evaluation and
subsequent personal use and should only be used for this purpose.
Please respect the copyright.
To load and run, click on the filer icon in the usual way. An Iconbar
icon will be installed on the iconbar. Then click the mouse Select
button while the pointer is over this icon, to present the initial
window. This will ask you to click Select to go straight into the game
OR the mouse Adjust button to view about ten (short) pages of
instructions. Making the latter choice, also causes the instructions
in the game to be more verbose. The instructions do get fewer in number
as you get further on in the game.
Please note that the application has been designed to run on a variety
of screens, preferably with 32k coloursand can be played solely by
using the mouse buttons. Low resolution screens can use the 'Escape'
key to quit the game.
Please comment on anything in the game or related to it. Your comments
will be valued. On encountering bugs, please be sure to note down as
much as possible, including the machine's build and configuration, OS
version and the other applications running in the machine at the same
time.
This file is to be found in the 'Default' directory of information /
messages. If your computer is configured to a Country other than 'UK',
then you can add a new directory with the Country name in the Resources
directory. This new directory should have files and directories with
the same name as those in the 'Default' structure but the text can be
written in that Country's language.
Note that the token words at the start of each message should not be
changed: these are used by the software to locate the message. If a
file is not found, then the one in the Default directory is used.
[Press key F12 and type *Help Country at the command line prompt]
Note that you must follow the structure of the Resources folder; the
images for any HTML files are to be put in the Images directory, under
the appropriate GIF or JPEG directories.
It is expected that the full version of the game will be released
before Christmas.
The author would like to express his thanks to Patrick Mortara for
providing the German translation of the message files and HTML file.
